Artists Description 

"This was the first drawing I attempted on canvas. I used an old canvas which I had painted previously, utilising the texture left by the dried paint underneath. It was challenging to ink in-between the undulations on the surface; however, it allowed the forms to come about more naturally. The texture gives it more of a 3D feel despite the flat black and white colours. When making the illustrations I was interested in allowing the viewer to focus on the shapes made by the areas in black, and subsequently balanced with the shapes in white."
