"‘Candy’ is about playfulness. It’s a combination of childish colours. It should represent happy feelings. I was in a rather good mood when creating this painting. It was done in the midst of summer and I love summer. I am so much more productive when it’s sunny."

"This is further developed from my previous painting ‘Stand Still’. I wanted to further develop this fast movement idea/effect with an additional spin. Again, here I wanted to achieve this with a more intuitive approach of mixing colours instead of a block colour for the base. Here, I integrated this effect onto the circles to create a spin effect."

"‘Floating’ is about being present, content and letting go. It’s about the feeling of being content after a struggle. I like to think of this piece as light and airy. The objects are floating around only connected briefly yet they create a full balance."

"This piece was created after a holiday. I was very collected and rested. I think this piece really reflects that. I like how the grey rectangle just hugs the rests of the objects.

I usually like bold contrasting colours, but this painting is more about being calm, so I used more relaxed contrasts and of course blue which is usually present in most of my works if not all. "

"‘Stand Still’ was partly influenced by James Nares single brushstroke paintings. I wanted to create the effect of a fast movement where the geometric shapes remain still. This was a new technique that I wanted to explore, and to mix colours quite intuitively I was hoping to create an illusion of ‘flying through’."

"Shortly before this painting, I started experimenting with more intersecting lines and bigger blocks of colour. I am often inspired by fashion and editorials for my colour scheme. This particular one was inspired by a draped lime green dress from Mugler’s PF20 collection."
